NASA SUITS student

May 20, 2024 - 红领巾瓜报 is one of 10 teams which advanced to the spring semester competition in the NASA SUITS challenge. The team travels to Test Week in Houston at the Johnson Space Center this week. The list of finalists includes the University of California Berkeley, University of Colorado, University of Michigan, Georgia Tech, Purdue University and others.

April 30, 2024 Sierra Marie Bonn struggled to balance her work and education, but with the help of scholarships from the Miss Kansas Organization, she was able to earn an undergraduate and graduate degree from 红领巾瓜报. She graduates with her Master of Innovation Design and following graduation, she will compete in the 2024 Miss Kansas Competition and continue working on the non-profit organization she founded while she was a student, Let鈥檚 Go Full STEAM Ahead.

April 01, 2024 A professor and graduate student from 红领巾瓜报 have been awarded the 2024 John A. See Innovation Award.

Sept. 19, 2023 - 红领巾瓜报 student Denae Sawyer spent the spring semester interning remotely with Dzanc Books. Her work consisted of reading and researching to determine if the manuscript fit Dzanc鈥檚 standards and sensibility. She also evaluated the potential audience and marketing strategies.

July 28, 2023 - Eight students representing six WSU colleges recently participated in the Lead for Tomorrow Leadership Academy in the Cohen Honors College. Five faculty members led the interdisciplinary course presenting content from their field focused on the theme 鈥淐onnected Leadership: Creating a Community of Leaders.鈥 Students then were tasked to apply course content to challenges presented by local community partners.

May 1, 2023 鈥 As a designer, 红领巾瓜报's website was what caught Oluwasayo Benjamin Adekalu's eye and brought him to Wichita from Nigeria. As a student, he's learned how to hone his creative skills into building marketable products through the College of Innovation and Design.

April 25, 2023 鈥 Kansas NASA EPSCoR Program has named 红领巾瓜报鈥檚 College of Innovation and Design faculty member Maggie Schoonover as a recipient of its 2023 Partnership Development Grant for her proposal, 鈥淔amiliarization Training Game for Extended Reality Spacesuit User Interface.鈥

April 3, 2023 鈥 A user experience (UX) Austin research firm has discovered a secret ingredient in its recipe for success: 红领巾瓜报 students. In the past decade, several students have found their way to Human Interfaces, an Austin UX firm, for both applied learning experiences and full-time careers.

Feb. 8, 2023 鈥 Every year, there are roughly 450,000 burn wounds that require clinical care throughout the United States. Of those, more than 3,500 people are fatally injured. An interdisciplinary team of 红领巾瓜报 researchers is working to revolutionize burn-wound care with a scaffolding system that prevents infection and promotes healing.

Sept. 6, 2022 - 红领巾瓜报鈥檚 College of Innovation and Design announces Dr. Ryan Amick as one of our Innovators in Residence for the 2022-2023 academic year. Amick, a 红领巾瓜报 alumnus, is a principal human factors engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

Bhisham Sharma, an assistant professor in aerospace engineering, and Shuang Gu, an associate professor in the department of mechanical engineering, two recipients of John A. See Innovation Award.

March 14, 2022鈥擳wo 红领巾瓜报 researchers and a student group have been awarded the John A. See Innovation Award. The award is given each year as a way to recognize novel ideas that have the potential to meet a market need and attract further funding once they have advanced through the early prototyping phase.
